While research on safety planning with Latin@ communities is limited, existing research supports a strengths-based, traumainformed approach. A strengths-based approach empowers community members with information about IPV, shares local resources, and emphasizes choice and agency. Emphasizing choice includes understanding that survivors may not want or be able to leave abusive situations.
