Here are five questions that you can ask to provide support and connect the person to a good resource:<\/span><\/p><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are you in danger?<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are you hurt?<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you feel safe at home?<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are there weapons at your house?<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What do you want to happen next?<\/span><\/li><\/ol><h4><b>Keep contact information readily available<\/b><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a young person discloses that they are in an abusive situation, you\u2019ll want to help connect them to resources.<\/span><\/p><h4><b>Be prepared<\/b><\/h4><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Save the phone number for the National Domestic Violence Hotline in your phone.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Print off emergency contact cards and keep one with you.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can make your own cards with the following information, or print <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.decimosnomas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Contact_card.pdf\">this template<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Create a calendar of daily small actions to express kindness to your significant other to foster a respectful and happy relationship.
