Through thoughtful communication and relationship-building, her work helps sustain the resources that make it possible to support survivors, uplift Latin@ communities, and continue advancing change.

For Kate, this work is deeply personal and rooted in both her family history and her broader perspective on women’s roles in the world.

“I personally come from a strong family line of women committed to uplifting other women. We number over 4 billion, and our varied experiences reflect that diversity. Women also hold responsibility for enforcing many of the social norms and expectations that can divide and marginalize us. We all need to do better honoring women’s history, and as half of the world’s population, we must also take responsibility in moving this work forward.”

For Kate, Women’s History Month is both a celebration and a call to action, a reminder of the power women hold, not only to uplift one another, but to challenge systems and create a more equitable future.

At Esperanza United, this vision comes to life every day through the collective work of staff, community, and supporters, ensuring that survivors are not alone and that hope continues to grow.

During Women’s History Month, we are highlighting the incredible women across Esperanza United whose leadership, dedication, and work help strengthen our communities every day.
