For Mother’s Day, we asked the mothers of Esperanza United to share what motherhood means to them,\u00a0in their own words. What it feels like. What it teaches them. How it shapes the way they show up for our community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Their responses were tender, funny, fierce, and deeply honest. So rather than let those reflections live in separate inboxes, we wove them together into something that belongs to all of us.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This is our collective poem.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\u00a0<\/span>They say a mother’s heart walks around outside\u00a0the\u00a0body. Small feet, loud laughter, a\u00a0heartbeat that lives outside\u00a0of them.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

It begins as a whisper:\u00a0<\/span>my favorite work, and such a hard job to do well.\u00a0<\/span>You learn them by morning, relearn them by night, chasing the children they are becoming.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The love is\u00a0<\/span>cosmic,<\/span>\u00a0they tell\u00a0us.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Unasked for, unmeasured, arriving in small hands that hold your face like a country they have always known.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

And\u00a0the love\u00a0does not stay home. It walks into every room we enter.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

It sharpens the eye, softens the voice, teaches the meaning of\u00a0<\/span>heroic<\/span><\/i>\u00a0in the faces of survivors who carry their own children through fire.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We learn to expect the change. To trust the quiet knowing. To listen beneath the words.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

And when we lead, we lead like this. With care stitched into every choice, with awareness worn like a shawl,\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

with\u00a0the steady, unshaken belief that something better is ours to build.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

So today, we honor them:\u00a0the mothers, the leaders, the visionaries with tired hands and luminous hearts\u00a0–\u00a0carrying us all forward,\u00a0<\/span>adelante,\u00a0<\/span><\/i>together.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
