Como hombre, usted tiene influencia y privilegio (sin importar si usted lo sabe o lo quiere o no). Esto significa que otros hombres (y mujeres) lo escuchan. Use este privilegio para dar un ejemplo y hablar con otros hombres sobre el hecho de que la violencia contra las mujeres es injusta. Al principio no es f\u00e1cil, porque desde muy temprana edad, los ni\u00f1os y los hombres reciben el mensaje de que hay consecuencias por dejar el \u201cclub\u201d de la masculinidad tradicional. Pero los tiempos est\u00e1n cambiando y un mayor n\u00famero de hombres est\u00e1n protestando cuando escuchan a otros hombres hacer bromas sexistas, acosan a mujeres en las calles o tratan de justificar o negar el hecho de que la violencia contra las mujeres es un problema epid\u00e9mico.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h4><strong>Algunas cosas que puede hacer<\/strong><\/h4><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Si est\u00e1 donando su tiempo o dinero a una organizaci\u00f3n de mujeres o ni\u00f1as, d\u00edgale a sus amigos o colegas por qu\u00e9 esto es importante para usted e inv\u00edtelos a que se unan a sus esfuerzos por apoyar la agencia.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Si uno de sus amigos o colegas hace una broma sexista o acosa a una mujer en frente suyo, interr\u00fampalo con calma pero firmemente y explique que el crear un ambiente hostil para las mujeres y devaluarlas, a\u00fan cuando sea \u201cbromeando\u201d, son razones por las cuales otros hombres se sienten con derecho de tratar mal a mujeres y ni\u00f1as de maneras m\u00e1s serias. Usted puede decir cosas como \u201ceso no me parece divertido\u201d o \u201cese tipo de comentarios me parecen inc\u00f3modos\u201d o \u201csi algunos hombres son irrespetuosos con las mujeres, otros hombres sienten que tienen permiso para abusarlas\u201d.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cuando otros hombres deval\u00faan a las mujeres de cualquier manera, recu\u00e9rdeles que ellos tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n hablando sobre sus madres, hermanas, hijas, etc.<br \/><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aprenda a ver pel\u00edculas y televisi\u00f3n con un ojo cr\u00edtico. Estamos rodead@s de mensajes que deval\u00faan a las mujeres, minimizan la violencia que ellas experimentan y limitan las maneras en que los hombres pueden expresarse y todav\u00eda ser considerados \u201cvaroniles\u201d.
