Weatherization Assistance Program

The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) uses energy conservation techniques to reduce the cost of home energy. Correcting health and safety hazards and potentially life-threatening conditions is the first consideration in WAP activities. Households who are at or below 50 percent of the state median income are eligible. All homeowners and renters who are income eligible for Energy Assistance are income eligible for WAP. Priority is given to households with at least one elderly or disabled member and to customers with the highest heating costs.
El Programa de Asistencia de Climatización (WAP) utiliza técnicas de conservación de energía para reducir el costo de la misma en el hogar. La primera concideración de WAP es corregir las condiciones de riesgo de salud, seguridad y/o potencialmente mortales. Son elegibles los hogares que están por debajo del 50 por ciento del ingreso medio del estado. Todos los propietarios e inquilinos que son elegibles para Asistencia de Energía son los elegibles recibir asistencia de WAP. Se da prioridad a los hogares con al menos una persona mayor o discapacitado y a clientes con los más altos costos de calefacción.
