Thank you, survivors, for climbing Capitol Hill to demand justice

Marina Lacerda, Danielle Bensky, Anouska De Georgiou, Courtney Wild, Haley Robson, Annie Farmer, Teresa Helm, Liz Stein, Jena-Lisa Jones, Lisa Phillips, Jess Michaels — and every survivor who stood, spoke, or showed up — thank you.

Thank you for speaking up for those who are no longer here, and for saying the words you deserved to hear.

You stepped into the limelight, despite the grief, fear, and discomfort, to demand justice and shed light on your brilliant ideas to prevent what happened to you from ever happening to anyone else.

Your strength inspires us. And we gladly join the long line of supporters who stand with you.

You opened the door.

To hard conversations.
To overdue accountability.
To collective strength.
To a future where everyone can ask for help.

While that door remains open, we must pour our collective voices into it, so they reach everyone who needs to hear them.

For those who resonate with the stories these brave women shared and are speaking out, or trying to find the words, or just doing their best to make it through the day, all without the flashing cameras and articles:

While we may not know your names, know that you are not alone.

You matter. What you went through is real, whether it unfolded in a stranger’s house, in an alley, or in your own home.

We, along with everyone else in that line of solidarity, are here for you. With love, with respect, and with resources to support you, wherever you are in your journey.

You are not alone, and support is here when you are ready.
