We are thrilled to welcome Rudy Rodriguez as the newest member of the Esperanza United board of directors.
Rudy brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience at some of the country’s most recognized companies, including Ameriprise Financial, MillerCoors, General Mills, and Unilever. Throughout his career, he has been a driving force behind diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy – building programs, coalitions, and cultures that center communities of color and move institutions toward accountability. Most recently, he served as Global Vice President and Corporate Officer of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Ameriprise Financial, where he led a team dedicated to embedding DEI across a global organization.
But it is Rudy’s deep roots in community that make him such a meaningful addition to our board. He is a founding board member of LatinoLEAD Minnesota, a former board chair of the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, and a former trustee of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, appointed by Governor Dayton. He is fluent in Spanish and brings a strong gender equity lens to everything he does.
Rudy’s commitment to our community showed up long before he joined our board. During Metro Surge, he was out in the streets – patrolling schools, showing up at protests, and supporting Latine businesses. That is who he is.
In his own words: “I am honored to join the Esperanza United board and support the organization’s efforts to end gender-based violence and strengthen our beautiful comunidad.”
We could not agree more. Welcome, Rudy. We are so glad you are here.
