Sample LEP plans
It is helpful to review language access plans from other organizations. Here are two different examples of language access plans that may be helpful as you work towards meaningful language access.
- Model protocol on services for limited English proficient immigrant and refugee victims of domestic violence, by the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence, describes specific language access strategies for various types of advocacy settings (shelter, community, court, and others). This document can provide sample language for your Language Access Plan, tailored to the settings within which your advocates operate.
- New York City Mayor’s office to combat domestic violence language access implementation plan was developed in 2008 focusing on language access in Family Justice Centers. It includes clear timelines for language access enhancements that could help generate ideas for realistic timelines for enhancement strategies.
